I Didn’t Want These Urges
Last night I met a group of friends at The Rio to celebrate a friend finishing the bar exam. Soon after that we went to Nallen’s Irish Pub and had a couple of beers. I ended up getting home relatively early. And my stomach full of alcohol was giving strong urges to call Sabrina. I didn’t want these urges. And I didn’t want to make that call. Mostly cause I was afraid of what was going to be said. More rejection? More anger? More hope? And if so, is the hope unmerited? So I left my apartment, walked around the block and went and got another beer. When I got home I made the call.
Hi you’ve reached Sabrina, please leave a message.
Hey, it’s me. I just wanted to hear your voice. Call me back when you get this if you feel like it. Talk to you later. Bye.
Well she called me at work as I was writing this up. She was driving home. She apologized for not calling back last night. We talked for about a half-hour, just catching up and telling each other what’s new, which wasn’t anything exciting for either of us. We made plans to see each other soon. She suggested tonight but I am having trouble with my car and didn’t want to bother her. We are both busy during the weekend. Maybe Sunday. Maybe later on in the week. Maybe not.

Never make those kind of phone calls after Stella. One Stella is like two Guiness’ - this from the bartender at Conor O’Neill’s. Veeerrryyy high in alcohol content. And I think they put a hallucinogen in there, too. [I had a bad night on Stella a few months ago. Throwing up in my bushes while my friend broke into my house, as I had lost my keys.] Incidentally, how did your friend do on the bar?

I never knew Stella had more alchohol in them. maybe that’s why I’ve been partial to them lately (and seriously, a hallucinogen? I’ve heard the same thing about Jagermeister too). Your right, a bad time to start making decisions of any sort. My friend won’t know if she passed the bar or not for a couple of weeks I believe. But she said she felt confident.

just blogrolled ya…fun blog.
I fully believe that telephones should have breathalyzers attached…not unlike the retrofitting they do for cars when you’ve had one too many DUIs….
over .08? the phone doesn’t work.
