Day Three: Skidding Through Life
On Sunday I spent the morning running errands and tidying up the apartment. Then I went and picked up a girl I met at the wedding and we went to throw the frisbee around at Sloans Lake. Afterwards I went over to Liz’s new loft for a house home-warming party. Her place was incredible and she was a real sweetheart. She also throws a mean party, tons of food (too bad I had a late lunch) and good beer. I have to admit I was a little intimidated about going to a party solo when I didn’t know anybody (personally) there. But of course I had no reason to be. Liz was a great hostess and made me feel completely comfortable. I didn’t get a chance to chat with her as much as I wanted but knew she had lots of guests to attend to and I didn’t want to make her think she had to accomidate me. But she has tons of great friends and a friendly family (Martha, you rock on the piano). I met a lot of nice people and had a great time sitting on the proch, smoking cigarettes, chatting and watching the city skyline change colors with the setting sun. Thanks for the invitation Liz. And I’m very jealous of your new home.
