Long, Dark Exaggerations

Had ultimate again last night.

I’m on team 5B. Summer league this time. It’s a huge team; that means not much playing time, which sucks. But it was a beautiful evening. The sunset was waves of yelloworangepinkredpurpleblueblack. And I caught myself staring off into it for no reason at all, my brain just blanked out. After the game we all stood in park. At least a hundred of us. Nalgene bottles (because that’s what all the cool kids have) in hand, hovering around kegs for our next beer. Large groups of fifteen or more all trying to get to know each other. As the night enveloped us the small bugs came out. The moon shone slightly on the horizon. And the lights from the distant softball fields cast long, dark exaggerations of ourselves across the thick, jade lawn. Each of us could feel the cool river of air, a foot or so deep, springing from the lush grass and swimming through our legs. Lapping at the perspiration behind our knees. Before I knew it, it was 10:00, and time to go home.

In other news…Congratulations A.P. You’re a wonderful friend and every bit deserving of your amazing wife. All my love my friend.

A.P. is off to Mexico to get married today. This was an event that I had planned on going to, but got cancelled when me and Sabrina (look it up if you need to) broke up. After emailing her I found out that she just got back from a week long vacation in NYC a coulpe of days ago, another trip we had always talked about taking together, and a place I’ve been dying to go to. Damn! Screwed! Twice! I do however have tentative plans to go out to NYC (or maybe someplace else) in September and I have already been to Salt Lake and Vegas this year (also previously planned with Sabrina) so I’m not that jealous. But I can’t help feeling a bit envious and spiteful. How will I feel if I find out she went with a new boyfriend? I guess a little more envious and spiteful.

Hi, I like the look and feel of your site - clean and easy to navigate. I’ve been with Blogger for a little while and am now in the process of crossing over to MT - I like how your ‘read more . .’ an ‘comments’ flip open beneath the post, I also like the checkbox for links opening in a blank window - could you let me have the code for them, or a link to where I can find it? I’d appreciate it . . .

Ouch! Sorry about your trip to N.Y. It sucks to have to deal with stuff like that, especially when the ex gets a new fling! But, you’ll be fine, I’m sure- keep your head up! Sounds like a great weekend for you, though. I liked your story alot- the imagery is great!

Laura: I’d love to have lunch or grab a beer or anything. I’ll let you know my plans. And of course get a hold of me whenever your in your old stompin grounds.

Hadge: Take whatever you want. I’m not in it for the fame or the money. Just remember me.

Lotus: Yeah, here in Colorado nalgene means your the active outdoor type. The sticker on your nalgene separates you from all the other nalgene users. Silly isn’t it?

Allison: I don’t know if she has a new fling. And I’m glad she got to go. Were gonna look at pictures next week probably. I was just jealous cause I didn;t get to go.
