My Laundry Money
Negative progression. My laundry didn’t get done this week.
On Wednesday night I went down to the local 7-11 to get laundry biscuits (quarters for laundry, that is, for all you not in the know). The lady at the register was unable to break a twenty for me so I went to the bar across the street hoping that after buying a drink I could get a bunch of ones that I could then turn into quarters, and in turn, do laundry with. On my first drink I began telling the girl next to me about this story. On my second drink I met, by coincidence, the intern of a good friend. She ignored me. On my third drink I got in an argument with one of the guys next to me about the benefits utilitarianism vs objectivism as related to both society and individuals. He was on his third+ drink too, so this made for a lively and fun debate. On my fourth drink I was in the back room playing pool with two very drunk but very cute girls and applying cue chalk like eye shadow to one of them. On my fifth drink I spent all of my laundry money. Now I’m wearing dirty socks.

I send mine out. It’s damn expensive, but I have few other options in my building and no time. At first I was creeped out by the idea of people washing my dirty underwear. But now I’m totally spoiled.

If you have enough to drink, it makes you forget your clothes are dirty or your socks smell like the south end of a north-bound dog.
