Wipe Away Any Sort Of Cobwebs

It was a great weekend. One of the better one’s I’ve had in the last month.

It started off on Thursday by IMing with Chevy all day. That night I went to play ultimate. We won and I took this as an omen as to how the rest of the weekend was to go. This win puts us in 7th place of 24 teams.

Afterwards I met a bunch of friends at Nallan’s Irish Pub downtown. It was the first time I’ve gone out to the bars with a whole groupful of friends in a long time and I had a blast. All my drinks were bought for me. Everyone seemed to want to catch up and talk with me and I was really excited to catch up with everyone else. I didn’t even have time to visit with everyone I wanted to. I felt really good. I stayed till the bitter end, no thanks to a Red Bull & Vodka drink brought to me later in the night that seemed to wipe away any sort of cobwebs I may have had.

As a result I slept in rather late on Friday and spent some time on the couch in the morning. I went to a 4th of July BBQ later that afternoon that was tons-o’-fun too. Highlights included:

  • The official 2003 badminton championships, complete with 1970’s style trophy.
  • The All Done Train award (hardest partier) went to Shramy. There were a few males and females left standing that were vying for the trophy but John sealed the deal when he fell out of the tree trying to scare people. I did not witness this display of drunkenness but from the eye witnesses it was truly a moment of pure hilarity!
  • Impromptu late night arm wrestling contest with male, female and coed categories won by Dutch and Dre.
  • The bathroom door did come off its hinges again this year. It was found in the garage.
  • The Cherry Hills Village fireworks display.
  • Tons of great food: hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, cup-cakes, lots of dips, guacamole, fruit salad, a literal tub of potato salad, cake, cookies and lots of other goodies I didn’t even try.
  • Leber brought Car Bombs that really got the party to the next level so to speak.
  • The amateur fireworks display went off without a hitch (barely).
  • Also the peer pressure displayed by Dutch, Shramy and Jefe to get people who don’t “normally” do keg stands to do them (including two women who put on Jefe’s shorts because they were wearing skirts) made that last keg go kind of quick.
  • A champagne bar. Although, Jefe was acting like he won the Grand Prix by spraying it all over the place.

After a large breakfast at the Freedom’s house, I spent most of Saturday recovering. I watched Murder By Numbers which was so typical I almost stopped watching it half way through. I don’t recommend it.

On Sunday I went mountain biking at Mathew Winters Park and then went over to my moms for dinner. We ate hamburgers and watched Igby Goes Down, a pretty good movies that comes recommended.

Sounds like you had a blast! Hahaha, I haven’t done a kegstand since college. Oh, such puking that followed!
