And Now For Something Completely Different

I’ve been swamped at work again but I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. So I should be my normal slacker self again soon. A few things to keep you up to date on the happenings in my world:

I found some errors in my work yesterday at about 5 p.m. and stayed at work till ten o’ clock getting them fixed, in addition to skipping my lunch hour in order to make meetings. This made for a 14 hour day and possibly a new record. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t salaried.

I made out like a bandit on the market Monday and am getting close to recouping some of my losses incurred in ’03.

I’ve got a bunch of good shows lined up at a bunch of different venues in the future. Tonight it’s I Am The World Trade Center at the Larimer Lounge. Next week is Fantomas at the Fox Theatre (there is a good chance I won’t make this one cause it’s on a Wednesday in Boulder). Then at the end of the month Air is playing at The Gothic. On May first I may go see Andrew WK at Cervantes. And finally, at the end of the summer I’m going to see David Byrne play at the Botanic Gardens.

I love Air. It’s great music to listen to when stressed out.

    Viva la financial recovery!

us new yorkers don’t like people making light of the world trade center. i guess you had to be here.

but don’t worry my punk rock mis-spent youth totally understands why someone would, but again I guess you had to be here to understand why you never should.

I need some god damn Rammstein. Any band that sets themselves on fire, uses lots of pyrotechnics, has an inflatable raft for crowdsurfing, and has a fake penis that sprays water on the audience is ok in my book. I’ve never seen a better show than Rammstein live at the Ogden.

chevy - why yes, i do belive i am.

melissa - yeah i know it makes me laugh a little too. party til you puke.

joclyn - i am the world trade center had their name long before the trade centers were attacked. they were formed in NY and are one of “you New Yorkers”. They are definately not taking it lightly. This is from their website: “I am the World Trade Center was named after a symbol of New York, the city where we got our start. The Twin Towers represented many things to us, their giant presence on the skyline reminded us every day of what an amazing and overwhelming place we were living in. Also, the two towers, equal and independent yet still one entity are a metaphor for the relationship Amy and I have developed both professionally and personally. As an additional show of respect, I am the World Trade Center will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their record “Out of the Loop” to the United Way of New York’s September 11th Fund”. Anyway, have fun at the Strokes, the Fillmore auditorium is just down the street from my apartment.

    satan - you need gwar.

    1. as for the trl/mtv blog below, i thought you’d enjoy knowing that mtv is presenting carson daly (or daily or however his last name is spelled) with a lifetime achievement award for his work on trl.

    2. you’ve got a fun show roster coming up. you should go see tv on the radio on 4.20 at club 156. yes, you may have to go to boulder but it’ll be worth it. these guys will be unbearably huge in a year or two. — http://www.tvontheradio.com

GWAR got old 10 years ago. And I like Rammstein’s music a lot more. Most people judge them by their only radio single “Du Hast” which is by far one of their worst songs. Try Herzeleid, I like it better than Sehnsucht.
