Birthday Vindaloo

We loaded up the car and headed off to my mom’s in order to celebrate her birthday. Earlier in the evening I picked her up some vases of blue glass and a massive rack of votive candles for gifts. We sat around my mom’s and bullshitted for a bit. I drank the last bud in the fridge and smoked a cigarette and watched pleasantly as my mom opened her gifts.

We then all piled into G’s car and headed out to dinner. We went to the Taj Of India which is a small, incredibly delicious, Indian restaurant that is tucked away in a strip mall out in the southern most corners of the suburbs. Look for it sometime, it’ll be worth your while. My mom and brother eat there often enough to have become regulars.

We came home at the end of the night with a new chair that will somehow be reupholstered. Just another project to add to the list.

Happy Birthday Mom!

haha. we gave her a good ribbing about the box of “sunset blush” in the fridge. We may not have the classiest backyard drinks but we surely have one of the meanest pours around. (you’ll notice the wine was actually stepped up a notch when we left the backyard and went to the restaurant.)
