How Not To Do A Front Flip

Seriously lucky. He was on fire. People aren’t supposed to be on fire. I can see why he talked it down. I would have talked it down too. It still makes me a bit nervous though. It seems each accident gets a little more dangerous. But catching on fire will wake a man up - to a lot of things. It’ll also scare the shit out of him. Stay strong.

I went out with my brother and Pandy on Friday. It was a lot of fun. Bro is doing good. Great actually. We went over to the Sputnik after dinner for a few drinks and ran into these two. And some dud. I don’t think he said a word. In fact he ignored everyone he was sitting with. I hope he wasn’t your boyfriend luccy. Anyway, it was a pleasure making your acquaintance. I’m ready for a massage now. I think we can all admit it wholly sucks seeing those lights flicker at the end of the night.

On Sunday Bear had a pool party. That’s right sweet toots, I have a good friend with a swimming pool, diving board, hot tub, and waterslide in his backyard. Please realize this is not a common occurrence in Denver. As a result I feel vicariously lucky. They had a pool party on Sunday. I showed everyone how not to do a front flip on the diving board and worked on my last sunburn of the summer. Or would it be the first one of fall?

I Musta Drank Me ‘Bout Fifteen Dr. Peppers

A couple of weeks ago I uploaded our good friend Dick Simmons to give everyone who entered Hubsville a big hand for just showing up. Gideon complained about this, she doesn’t like big hands, particularly Richards. Sooooooo, I decided to change it up to Good Ole Gump. Why? My good nature readers may ask. Because 15 Dr. Peppers is the perfect cure for a hangover, the flu, and tuberculosis, or whatever else may ail ya. Do-doop-de-doop bop!

Foodie

A foodie highlight of the past couple of days (not including the coconut shrimp catered at the couples wedding shower on Saturday) was the pork tenderloin with balsamic-cranberry sauce. Utterly delectable-a-licious. G and I had a bunch of people over for dinner and drinks on Sunday and fixed this dish. The recipe can be found at the jump. I highly recommend it. Though a tenderloin that feeds nine isn’t cheap, the pleasure it provides is priceless.

As Dictated By Tradition

Ok ok ok, so a little about my Labor Day weekend.

As tradition dictates is was incredibly relaxing and filled with parties.

It started out with that one amazing shrimp dish we’ve been making lately, and inviting a few guests over to share it with. I used too many jalapenos. It was a little to spicy for everyone but there was nothing left over. Weird, I guess it wasn’t that hot.

I slept in on Saturday as many wines were consumed with said shrimp. I then went over to the French’s to watch the CU vs. CSU game. My alma mater lost. The rest of the evening was spent sitting on the French’s back porch drinking beer, smoking, and talking with friends.

On Sunday I went to grab breakfast at The Grill. They have a great lunch and dinner their, but if you have an intelligent bone in your body you’ll avoid it for breakfast. Apparently my bones aren’t all that cerebal. There are still left-overs sitting in the fridge. Most of that afternoon was spent playing video games on the computer. This is a pretty fun one if you have some time to waste. Later that evening I went over to Lebers for a BBQ.

On Monday I woke up early (relative to the rest of the weekend) and headed up to Boulder Reservoir to do some boating. I got up slalom for the first time in my life and have found a new energy for waterskiing. I thought that after surfing earlier this summer, everything else would pail in comparison. I was wrong.
