As Dictated By Tradition
Ok ok ok, so a little about my Labor Day weekend.
As tradition dictates is was incredibly relaxing and filled with parties.
It started out with that one amazing shrimp dish we’ve been making lately, and inviting a few guests over to share it with. I used too many jalapenos. It was a little to spicy for everyone but there was nothing left over. Weird, I guess it wasn’t that hot.
I slept in on Saturday as many wines were consumed with said shrimp. I then went over to the French’s to watch the CU vs. CSU game. My alma mater lost. The rest of the evening was spent sitting on the French’s back porch drinking beer, smoking, and talking with friends.
On Sunday I went to grab breakfast at The Grill. They have a great lunch and dinner their, but if you have an intelligent bone in your body you’ll avoid it for breakfast. Apparently my bones aren’t all that cerebal. There are still left-overs sitting in the fridge. Most of that afternoon was spent playing video games on the computer. This is a pretty fun one if you have some time to waste. Later that evening I went over to Lebers for a BBQ.
On Monday I woke up early (relative to the rest of the weekend) and headed up to Boulder Reservoir to do some boating. I got up slalom for the first time in my life and have found a new energy for waterskiing. I thought that after surfing earlier this summer, everything else would pail in comparison. I was wrong.

I was sad to see CSU lose again.
The thing I don’t get is how do people that never attended either of the two schools chose who to cheer? Do they just chose CU by default? Is it b/c they are a Big 12 (or whatever they are) team?

Everybody’s day needs a little video game action. I think it’s what keeps us all sane.
Sounds like you had a very nice weekend. I was stressed out..had to play music in a friend’s wedding. Not relaxing at all.

Cool, I did the same thing. Except in my story, replace everything you did with “played video games” and there you have it.

Never attended either school. My favorite teams are Air Force (didn’t attend that one either) and who every CU is playing that week.
I like Air Force because the don’t have any of the traditional recruiting tools (”Join up and you’ll get to sign your life over to Uncle Sam for the next decade or so… and play some football, too!”) and they manage to turn out a well-disciplined, competitive team every year…
CSU was a heartbreaker. Curse the Buffaloes!!!

Excuse me… that should read, “whoever CU is playing that week.”

first of all, i’d like you to give your self a BIG hand for turning that off now.
