Corn Maze, Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, Littleton

This weekend I met my pops and everyone for an afternoon down at the Denver Botanic Gardens Corn Maze. I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a few years now but never made the time or was derailed from my mission by other means (particularly lack of planning). At first the maze seemed as if it was going to be pretty easy. However, it ended up being a lot more difficult than I planned. And it seemed that about 3/4ths of the way through it there was some deesention among the ranks and we were all going to give up. Pops stepped up to the plate and led us out.

    Stats (provided by pedometer)
Time spent in maze: 91 minutes
    Steps taken in maze: 4,072
    Miles walked: 1.6
Frustration level: 7.3 (impacted by hunger, hangover, and bad jokes)

It Seems There’s Always A Party

I’ve been spending the last few days celebrating G’s birthday. Last Thursday we had a birthday dinner with a bunch of her friends at Trattoria Stella. A great restaurant for all fans Italian. This is a great compromise for me, because, not being a huge fan of Italian in restaurants (I will NEVER order spaghetti from a restaurant and most Italian food from restaurants will never compare to Grandma’s), Stella gets crazy enough with their flavors that it’s a lot of fun. Every plate there had a unique twist. Afterwards, Sputnik.

Friday we had a more private dinner at the newly remolded Restaurant Japon. Delicious as always.

Saturday was that big birthday bash. It was a great time. We stayed up till the wee hours of the a.m. whooping it up. The BBQ failed us again, as a result nobody got to eat till around 9:30, by which time most of the revelers were well imbibed. I felt foolish for not having tested the BBQ before the party, particularly because I know it’s temperament. Though, I think few were concerned with my error.

    I’m full and wiped out.
