Whirlpool
A couple of weeks ago, my brother had his wedding in on the beautiful Jefferson Island (which isn’t really an island) just outside of New Iberia, LA. The Gardens were absolutely gorgeous. And the sunset on Lake Peigneur couldn’t have provided a better setting for such a celebration.
A good portion of the night I sat on the lawn, watching the sunset with my Beam & Coke and some good company. I had an interesting talk with some locals about the incredible history of the lake in front of us and that day in 1980 in which it had a fast-moving whirlpool a quarter of a mile in diameter swallowing everything around it.

WalkJogRun is a great application for runners, joggers, athletes, and the like. Simply put, it’s a running route planner and a distance/speed calculator.

There were Orgasmatrons in Woddy Allen’s terrrible movie “Sleeper” and on Motorhead albums, but i think the best one (a probably most likely to actually induce an orgasm) has to be Dominic Wilcox’s Orgasmatron 3000

Oh man, I wanted one of these things so bad but they are sold out. Well, I’m on the mailing list for when the next ones are released.
If you are looking for an MP3 player that is a little different…. If you love PEZ… If you like the idea of a stay-at-home dad, working out of his basement, taking on the giants of Cupertino, Tokyo, and Seoul… If you love independent music, podcasts, blogs, maverick ideas, and doing it yourself… This is the MP3 player for you.

39 things
A while back sladkaya asked me to put together a list of 39 of my favourite things. The reasons I took on this challenge are four-fold. First, I don’t get tagged for these things very often. Second, I though it would be a good exercise in positivity. Third, I wondered what I would come up with. Fourth, it will help me along in my goal of putting together a list of 101 that make me happy. At first I thought the list would take me a while but once I was started rolling I came up with 39 things easily. The great thing about this list is how malleable it is. I know it going to change, it has no priority, and is totally incomplete and will never be comprehensive. Enjoy.

Mythbusters, which is a pretty cool show in it’s own right, is using youtube to try and start a global yawning epidemic. If this global megayawn was combined with World Jump Day, I fear the world would probably instantly explode into a new sun.

During spring in Denmark, at approximately one half an hour before sunset, flocks of more than a million European starlings (sturnus vulgaris) join in the incredible formations that look like flying schools of fish. This phenomenon is called Black Sun (in Denmark), and can be witnessed in early spring throughout the marshlands of western Denmark.
