I’m not a huge fan of Prince or his Revolution but I know there are readers here who are. So I wanted to point you out to a great post by Pete over at ickmusic, which includes a download of Prince And The Revolution’s last live show. Pete says,
“So the last official gig with this [original] lineup took place on September 9th, 1986 in Yokohama, Japan. It was the last show of the Parade tour. Prince pulled out a B-side rarity (”Love or Money”), a heartfelt version of “Sometimes it Snows in April”, a killer jam on “Anotherloverholenyohead”, a preview of “Hot Thing” during “Head”, and so much more.”
The post follows up with a “where are they now” type of thing for each of the members of The Revolution.
Very Rotten Tomatoes
Rotten Tomatoes has recently put out a list of the worst 100 movies of all time entitled “The Worst Of The Worst”. The list rounds off with these final ten:
-
10. Half Past Dead
9. The Master Of Disguise
8. Twisted
7. National Lampoon’s Gold Diggers
6. Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2
5. King’s Ransom
4. Pinocchio
3. Crossover
2. Alone In The dark
1. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever
In order to determine their list they applied the following algorithm: (r ÷ (r+m)) × t + (m ÷ (r+m)) × a, with “r” representing the number of rated reviews, “m” the minimum number of reviews needed for a movie to qualify, “t” the Tomatometer score, and “a” the average Tomatometer of all the qualifying movies.
Fortunately/unfortunately I haven’t seen any of the movies in the top ten and very few of the movies in the top 100. Personally I think both “The 5th Element“, “Face Off” and “It’s Pat” are missing from the list. As a side note, Rotten Tomatoes has some great “best of” lists.

Todd Levin’s brilliant take on Twitter (and the rest of the sxsw nonsense / cool-kid factor):
“Twitter is a very simple concept to explain. Imagine there is a tiny invisible girlfriend sitting on your shoulder, constantly whispering in your ear, demanding to know what you’re thinking at that precise moment. Now, imagine you decide to answer every instance of her question by sending a text message to her, and all of your friends. That’s kind of what Twitter is like, and we’re positive it’s here to stay”

It was thirteen years ago today that Bukowski drank his last beer. Seems as good a time as any to pre-order his two poetry books The “People Look Like Flowers At Last: New Poems” and “Come On In!”. Sleep well dear friend.

Last October I told you about the unpublished chapter of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. But I think this tops it. Uncovered at this link are the “under-published” works of Jerome David Salinger. This collection consists mostly of out-of-print short stories. Salinger has deliberately kept most of these works out-of-print or off the market, so it should be said, the above linked website not only infringes on Salinger’s copyrights, it also makes certain material obtainable against Salinger’s will. But I’m not going to feel shamed for sharing the link, because some of it is fucking beautiful.
