Dip And Dunk

There was a time when they dotted the landscape in five and dime stores, bus stations, roller rinks, and amusement parks from coast to coast. In todays world of digital photography, finding an oldstyle photobooth (original chemical chemical dip & dunk botths, not the digital ones) is like finding a soda fountain shop – I can hardly avoid partaking in it’s nostalgic appeal and usually end up spending a few bucks. Photobooths in Colorado can be located at The Collective in Boulder and at Sputnik in Denver. While you’re at it, go check out the Photobooth Blog.

MP3 Player

Oh man, I wanted one of these things so bad but they are sold out. Well, I’m on the mailing list for when the next ones are released.

If you are looking for an MP3 player that is a little different…. If you love PEZ… If you like the idea of a stay-at-home dad, working out of his basement, taking on the giants of Cupertino, Tokyo, and Seoul… If you love independent music, podcasts, blogs, maverick ideas, and doing it yourself… This is the MP3 player for you.

Mood Views

LiveJournal is one of several simple-to-use personal publishing (“blogging”) tools. Bloggers using LiveJournal can report their mood at the time of writing a post; about 80% of the posts indeed have a mood attached to them. MoodViews is a collection of tools for tracking the stream of mood-annotated text made available by LiveJournal and has lot of cool tools to visualize the mood of the LiveJournal.

Artifacting DOM Tree

Over at this site you can get a cool graphic representation of your website. Basically, this Java Applet lets you see the HTML tag hierarchy that your site uses to lay out your content. Below is what the DOM tree at Artifacting looks like. What does that mean for people like me and you? Unique, cool, tropical flower-like pictures, I guess. This Flickr set has graphic site-maps for a bunch of other blogs.

Graphic Site Map for Artifacting
blue: for links (the A tag)
red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
green: for the DIV tag
violet: for images (the IMG tag)
yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
black: the HTML tag, the root node
gray: all other tags
