Since Twitter allows you to search the tweets of just the people you follow (in addition to “all” and “top” tweets), it is easy to create a Linkblog of all your friends. Simply enter “filter:links http” into your search bar. Easy and productive. This is great little trick if you are the type of user that gets on twitter to find cool links to read, watch, or listen to.
In fairness, I suppose it is only appropriate that I also show the Facebook changes to the recent election winner and not just the loser.

It appears that since Mitt Romney’s was defeated in his bid for presidency his Facebook users no longer like him and are leaving in droves. According to Mashable, Mitt is losing an average of 847 Facebook friends per hour.

Jeff Clark has created this neat tool called Twitter Topix Explorer that allows you to type in anyones twitter ID to help visualize which topics a person tweets about most often. The tool uses word cluster diagrams to show the most frequently used words in their tweets and how they are grouped together. A Tweet Topic Explorer diagram for my own account can be seen above
The wispy-haired, default, Facebook guy can get boring after a while. Why not liven-up your profile with a new and improved default silhouette? Assisted Serendipity is a free service that notifies you as soon as the male/female ratio turns in your favor at your favorite local hangouts. Using Foursquare’s check-in data, they monitor the venues you are interested in, and notify you as soon as the ratio tips. This ingenious use of Foursquare API is a social media powered wingman.
